Responds to requests for information concerning the Mental Health Service when such requests are deemed appropriate. Keeps the Section Chief's calendar and schedules for appointments, and keeps Section Chief informed of impending meetings, commitments and scheduled appointments. Attends and keeps records of administrative meetings conducted by the Section Chief, takes dictation and/or transcribe letters and other correspondence. Makes appointments and arranges meetings for the Section Chief and other mental health staff as requested. Prepares and manages travel arrangements for the Chief and other professional staff. Types and files all correspondence, mental health reports, bulletins, notices, educational materials, research reports and manuscripts, and checks correspondence for completeness and conformance to applicable regulations. Instructs, supports and helps with supervision of subordinates, work-study students and other clerical support personnel. Provides coverage of the duties of the Medical Support Assistant when necessary. Serve as the primary timekeeper for the Time & Leave (T&L) of staff aligned under the Mental Health Service Line Section Chief as well as serve as an alternate timekeeper for all other T&L units for the department. Experience:
One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal Service that equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Secretary (OA) position, and that is typically in or related to the duties of this position. Specialized experience for this position would consist of:
Experience tracking, coordinating, updating, editing, compiling and maintaining files and records; clerical and administrative skills such as grammar, punctuation, spelling, correspondence formats, and records management; skill in using computer applications for functions such as word processing, spread sheets and database management; skill in time management, multi-tasking and organization; and communication and interpersonal relation skills sufficient to appropriately and courteously relate to internal and external customers both verbally and in writing. NOTE:
Evidence of specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held. Please provide such documentation on resume. --OR-- Education - 4 years above high school. Four years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable for this position. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. In addition to meeting experience and/or education requirements, applicants for this position must show possession of the following skill. Ability to type 40 words per minute. Applicants may meet this requirement by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates, by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The work is mostly sedentary. It requires sitting, walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as papers, books, and files. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
