Microbiologist I

General Function:
Perform laboratory functions including qualitative and quantitative analyses.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Evaluate sample integrity and aseptically prepare for analysis
2) Perform a variety of quantitative tests in accordance with prescribed methodology
3) Perform all stages of qualitative testing in accordance with prescribed methodologies
4) Document appropriate actions and information as required
5) Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
6) Perform routine housekeeping functions and inventory as scheduled
7) Perform quantitative and qualitative control setup tasks
8) Practice GLP
9) Perform additional duties as required
Reporting Relationships:
Reports To: Reports to Microbiology Supervisor
Direction Given: Assist in employee orientation and training in all aspects of microbiologist job function; work flow assigned to Microbiology Technical Support
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science or related field or three years of laboratory experience concentrated in quantitative and qualitative analysis. This position requires working 2nd shift (1pm close).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Desirable Traits:
Overall knowledge of Food Microbiology including test methodologies, GLPs and the implication of test results to clients. Organizational skills and the ability to think on your feet plus the desire to be a productive team member who exhibits until the job is done is essential.
Working Conditions:
Physical effort usually requires considerable walking and standing with some lifting. Some exposure to unpleasant elements. Some element of personal risk due to handling bacteria, chemicals, steam and heat.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
