Our team works together to provide commercial doors, frames, and hardware throughout the US with minimal travel required.
Hoosier Construction, located in Crown Point, IN, this position is responsible for monitoring and comprehending architectural plans, interior drawings, hardware schedule, door schedule, and associated specification sections.
Acts as subject matter expert for all items related to commercial doors, frames, and hardware.
One of our specialties is the benefit of working with our sister company, D&L Wood Products, to provide sequenced and matched wood veneer doors to match the surrounding millwork veneered panels, high-end stile and rail doors, and sketchface veneered doors.
This position reports to the Executive Vice President.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of commercial door, frame and hardware vendors and manufacturers.
Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, hardware/door schedules, and architectural specs.
Intricate comprehension of Division 8 commercial doors, frames and hardware scope preferred.
Detailer/Estimator/Project Manager with 3
years relative experience in commercial door industry.
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Office tools
Responsibilities:
1.
Analyze projects to understand project plan, scope, specifications, schedule requirements, and coordinate with purchaser to order materials and complete projects according to, and on, schedule.
2.
Lead assigned projects to completion and troubleshoot problems that come up during projects.
3.
Provide detailed reviews and quality control of shop drawings through all phases:
initial submittals, redlines, redline revisions, design changes, field measurement, updates, and final set.
4.
Review and retain knowledge of architectural construction prints, spec manuals, and finishing schedules.
5.
Effectively analyze projects estimate overruns and/or under-runs and omissions related to the job cost.
6.
Manage subcontracted vendors and installers for timing and budget.
7.
Attend and actively participate in partnering sessions with contractors and other organizations.
8.
Initiate and respond to daily correspondence with customers, suppliers, and management requests via emails, text message, or telephone call.
9.
Review initial take-offs and estimates for new projects.
10.
Produce project submittals for all door openings using total door opening software.
11.
Coordinate ordering of materials with purchaser.
12.
Manage shared project document updates (ASI's bulletins, shop drawings, etc) 13.
Forecast and manage lead time items to purchase and install.
